Wow we are already nearing the end of the second month of 2012!

We hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and new year, and that you managed to have a bit of a break over the Christmas holidays. We spent a few days camping in Coromandel with my family which was very wet but nice all the same!

We are back into the swing of things again and the shop is open for business. We have some great new products and fabrics available and more to come in this month so keep an eye out for those!

We have some fantastic new products in stock this month:

“The Fine Line” water erasable marking pen is a great pin-point tip marker that produces a very thin, bright blue line. The marks can easily be removed using plain water!

Marking Pencil Removal Spray can be used for hobby, crafts, sewing & quilting. It safely removes marking pencil marks in an easy spray application! Limited Stock.

We are now stocking the Clover “Stack n Store Bobbin Tower” which is fantastic for organizing all of those loose bobbins! This will neatly store any type of bobbin, secures the thread ends so no more tangles, and is compact and convenient to use!

We have lots of new fabrics in stock – some are new collections, and others are new colours that have been added to existing collections.

The Flourish Collection: This gorgeous collection has 3 different prints available; all three are floral but different colours. You can click here to view these on the website.

The Normandy Court Collection: This collection has two dark prints, and two light prints with a very bold vine design. You can view these fabrics on our website.

The Sweet Pea Collection: The Sweet Pea Collection has four fabrics – each with the same beautiful pattern but ranging in slightly different colours. View these on the website here.

Wine Country Quilts 2012 Exhibition

Stitchworks and Quiltique will be at the Wine Country Quilts 2012 Exhibition in Waipukurau from Friday the 23rd of March until Sunday the 25th of March. The exhibition showcases the work of quilt makers up and down the East Coast, and will be open from 10am-4pm. Entry is just $5 so make sure you come down for a feast of colour and creativity out of this world, and enjoy the patchwork stalls and wine tasting that are also on site.

For those of you who attended the Sharon Schamber classes, you will know all about these must have quilting items! And for those of you who don’t, you will soon learn how amazing they are! These products are available now from Stitchworks.

Quilt Halo – The Quilt Halo allows you to quilt smoothly and gives you the control to quilt beautiful designs with practice.

Supreme Slider – This comes in Regular size and also Queen size. The Supreme Slider has a slippery Teflon top so you get less drag when quilting!

Little Genie Magic Bobbin Washers – These pop straight into your bobbin case, and eliminate backlash & bird’s nests on the underside of your quilt.

White Mineral Oil – Coat your thread in this mineral oil and you will see a great improvement in your machines performance, and in the tension of your thread. You’ll also have less thread breakage.

DVDs – A variety of DVDs for any level of quilter – from beginners to the more experienced. Sharon gives you her tips and shows you a range of different quilting techniques in each DVD.

Tutorials – We have various tutorial packs in stock. These packs consist of a DVD tutorial and a pattern sheet relating to a certain quilting style or technique.
